Doncaster Museum is home to the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum, Mike Cox was given the job of designing and managing its refurbishment, which told the story of the KOYLI from 1755 when the regiment was first raised.

BRADFORD MUSEUMS
This work here commenced with the Keighley Stories exhibition at Cliffe Castle Museum and continued with other museum projects for the Bradford Museum Service for approximately 10 years. It included further work at Cliffe Castle Museum, Manor House Ilkley, Cartwright Hall and the Bradford Industrial Museum.

This work was originated as a concept for the Blitz Experience for Technically Creative (https://www.technically-creative.co.uk/). The concept was approved by the client and TC went on to create the new experience. The following year TC were asked for a new concept for the Human Torpedo Exhibition, again my concept was approved and again TC went on to produce the new exhibition.

HULL MUSEUMS
The initial work with Hull Museums was in the role of clerk of works for the later stages of Streetlife Museum, but that let onto design and overseeing of further works at Streetlife and work at the Hull& East Riding Museum. This work spanned from 2001 to 2004.
A museum's collection is paramount, and it is the designers job to be respectful of that collection and the story it tells. It’s Important that a lot of time and effort is applied to the design of the showcase layouts, so that each showcase can become a piece of "miniature theatre", to create as much impact and to create context and integrity to the story being told.

BESPOKE ENVIRONMENTAL SHOWCASES
The environmental cases are designed so they can have strict environmental control with their own micro - climate. Environmental cases can be integrated within security case or within standard cases.
BESPOKE SECURITY SHOWCASES
The security cases feature a robust design, with anti-bandit glass in steel frames, and a thick steel box within a welded steel framework for added protection. The fixings are internally secured, and the case is equipped with up to 4 high-security dead locks, providing unparalleled security for valuable exhibits.
